“Location was great, venue was great… a lot of good topics covered.” Forum 10 Participant

We gathered in the evening this time for Transafe WA’s 10th Road Transport Industry Safety Forum, with great presentations in the foreground and DAFs and Kenworths in the background.

Many thanks to our hosts CJD Trucks/ Kenworth DAF Perth for having us in their showroom in Forrestfield, and to our event sponsors Teletrac Navman for supporting the night.

The Hon Dean Nalder MLA’s presentation had everyone captivated as he shared tales of his boyhood driving experiences in the country, his first steps as Transport Minister and then giving details on the process behind major road and transport projects, and his planning thoughts for WA’s future. It was great that he stayed to hear of industry’s progress and concerns regarding key safety issues.

We are grateful to all our speakers for making their presentations available here:

A Heavy Vehicle Accreditation and Activity Update from Paul Starling, Main Roads WA

Telematics for Safety and Compliance by Chris L’Ecluse of Teletrac Navman

Depression in the Heavy Vehicle Industry in Australia presented by Dr Nicholas Mabbott, Beyond Midnight Consulting

The ATA Safety Truck Tour of Western Australia – A Project Update delivered by Ana Stachewicz, Transafe WA

Thanks to our event sponsor. Here’s what they had to say:

“I had a great time and the content was well presented. It was good to hear from industry and the customer bodies within the room. I’m now further empowered to showcase that technology within this industry should be embraced as it can, in many cases, solve a lot of the reported issues relating to driver safety, truck safety and compliance. For a long time cost has hindered uptake, but in recent times this has drastically improved and now is well within reach for all to benefit.” Jason Gardner, AT&D Navtrac
